Glass OBSESSED
PATTI'S STORY & PHILOSOPHY
Most of my creations have come to me by accident and not something that I set out to discover or create. I have always loved glass, the colors and shapes and of course the sparkle. I have done stained glass for over 20 years, but I much prefer something more 3 dimensional.
My flowers all started while I was making a southern bottle tree, and I wanted to have more than just bottles on it. I wanted small flowers. When I came across a couple of small dishes that when I stacked them, they looked like interesting little flowers. My flowers grew to many sizes when I was just piling up a bunch of plates and bowls that I had picked up to get them out of my way. And Bam, 3 or 4 plates and bowls together looked like different layers of flowers. I wasn't looking for it, and wasn't expecting it, but there it was and my flower garden was born.
Similarly, I had placed some vintage bowls that I had near each other and realized they looked great together and would make a wonderful bowl for a bird feeder and a cover for the feeder.
I have created garden totems, beautiful bird baths, and gazing ball stands just from accidentally stacking some of my treasures for storage and something totally different appeared
